What is compositing?
Composting is transforming yardwaste, kitchen waste, and other organic materials into a beautiful nutrient-rich soil for gardening, landscaping and mulching purposes.

Compost Ingredients:
Browns: Leaves, Straw, Newspaper, cornstalks, wood chips, sawdust
Greens: Grass, vegetative waste, fruit waste, garden residue, sod
DO NOT USE: meat, dairy, fat, grease or bones in your compost. This may attract unwanted animals and may cause an odor.

Ideal temperature inside your compost pile is 90-140º
Fast Compost:
Turn Weekly
1/2 Green, 1/2 Brown
Slow Compost:
Turn Monthly
1/4 Green, 3/4 Brown
